Shop work
A chip at the waterline or a crack along a corner rarely stays small. Water finds its way in, edges keep breaking, and what started as cosmetic gets harder to fix. We provide fiberglass and gelcoat repair in Fort Myers and across Southwest Florida, for vessels of all sizes and construction types, from small cosmetic damage to extensive restoration work.
Fiberglass and Gelcoat Repairs We Handle
After Hurricane Ian, our team repaired numerous storm-damaged boats with everything from holes to cracks. That work taught us a lot about how storm damage travels through a hull.
- Chips and gouges from docks, trailers, anchors and everyday use
- Cracks and impact damage, including collision and storm damage
- Transom and hull repairs
- Deck repairs
- Damaged corners and edges
- Color-matched gelcoat work
- Painted-surface repair on boats that have been refinished in paint
- Refinishing of repaired areas so the work blends into the boat

Before & after
Matching the Finish
The repair isn’t done until it disappears into the boat. We finish each repair with the appropriate gelcoat or marine paint system and blend it into the surrounding area as closely as practical. Older gelcoat fades with sun exposure, so matching is part science and part judgment. We’ll tell you up front what a realistic match looks like on your boat, and when a larger panel or a repaint gives a better result than a spot repair.
Cosmetic or Structural?
Cosmetic
Most chips, gouges and surface cracks are cosmetic: they affect the gel coat and outer layers.
Structural
Damage that involves soft spots, flexing, or cracking around stringers and transoms can go deeper.
If we find signs that the laminate or core is compromised, we’ll explain what we see and quote it as a structural repair, which rebuilds strength before the surface is restored.
Four steps
How It Works
01
Tell us about the boat.
Call or send a few photos and a short note about what’s going on.
02
We take a look.
We inspect the boat and talk through options. Some repairs only show their full scope once the area is opened up, and we’ll tell you when that’s likely.
03
You get an estimate.
It lays out the work so you can decide what to do and when.
04
We do the work and keep you posted.
You’ll hear from us along the way, not just at pickup.
Custom Fiberglass Work
Sometimes there isn’t an off-the-shelf part for what you want. We also build custom fiberglass: modified consoles, closed or relocated openings, mounting surfaces, new storage areas, custom panels and one-off components. Larger projects that combine trades live on our custom work page.

How much does it cost to fix fiberglass on a boat?
It depends on the size and depth of the damage, where it is on the boat, and how much finishing it takes to blend the repair. A small chip and a cracked transom corner are very different jobs. Send photos for a first look, and we’ll confirm the price after inspecting it.
Can you match my boat’s gelcoat color?
We match as closely as practical, and on many boats the repair becomes hard to spot. Heavily faded or older gelcoat can make an exact match difficult; we’ll tell you what to expect before we start.
Should I repair a small chip right away?
Yes. Small chips let water reach the laminate underneath, and they tend to grow with every bump at the dock. A quick repair now usually costs less than a bigger one later.
