Storage & Transport

A boat sitting for the season, traveling down I-75 or waiting out a storm needs real cover, not a tarp that flaps itself to pieces. We provide professional boat shrink wrap in Fort Myers and across Southwest Florida for storage, transport, storm preparation, repairs and seasonal layup.

When Shrink Wrap Makes Sense

  • Long-term storage, including summer layup for owners who head north
  • Transport, so the boat arrives without road grime or wind damage
  • Storm preparation during hurricane season
  • Repairs, keeping work areas dry and protected between stages
  • Seasonal layup for boats that won’t be used for months

How We Shrink Wrap a Boat

The wrap is only as good as what’s under it. We prepare the boat properly before the wrap goes on so the covering is supported, secured and shaped to shed water. A well-built wrap protects the boat from sun, rain, dirt, debris and other environmental exposure without trapping water on top.

Each job is tailored to the vessel and the reason it’s being covered. Where it’s appropriate, we can add:

  • Access doors, so you or our team can get aboard without cutting the wrap
  • Ventilation, which helps reduce trapped moisture and the mildew that comes with it
  • Reinforced areas at contact points and sharp edges
  • Other details needed for longer-term protection or continued service access

Part of a Complete Protection Plan

Shrink wrapping is often one step in a bigger plan. We can coordinate it with transportation and haul-out, hurricane preparation and storage. If the boat is coming out of the water for the season, it’s a good time to schedule bottom paint too, and freshly done upholstery and canvas stay protected under a wrap while the boat sits.

Is shrink wrapping worth it in Florida?

For boats stored outside for months or moved long distances, it’s one of the most effective ways to keep sun, rain and debris off the boat. For a boat used every weekend, a fitted cover is usually more practical.

How long does shrink wrap last?

It depends on sun exposure, wind and how long the boat sits. A wrap built for transport has different needs than one built for months of storage, so we’ll set it up for how long you need it.

Can I still get into the boat after it’s wrapped?

Yes, if we add an access door. Tell us whether you or a service crew will need to get aboard, and we’ll build that in.

What does shrink wrapping cost?

Cost depends mostly on the boat’s length and shape, plus any access doors, venting or reinforcement. We’ll quote it once we know the boat and how long it needs to stay wrapped.
